I decided to do trash detail today on the Nooch and give up a day of fishing. The result was 12 bags of Bottles and cans and misc trash from the black-top to the gravel bar pull out on the Nooch. upon having many Vehicals stop and say what a good thing I was doing, 90% made the statement that they remove more then they take in. The other 10% said they would start bringing a garbage bag with next time and fill it up on the way out. I applaud them. But thinking to myself that if everyone took out more then they carried in, With this years current amount of fisherman on the river, then why was there still so much and still so much more after I left......With out that pull out, It would make all drifts on the Nooch very long, So please next time take a trash bag and just stop on the way out and grab what you see. Thanxs Matt

Good going on the clean up. Let me know next time you are going and I will meet you there. I do think that there would be a lot more people show up also.

Saw that the river was low, And it was a spur of the moment thing....Not looking for a pat on the back, But thank you. Just hoping that people will see the effort and join in... If we all take a bag out every trip then there will be no need for a clean up. every trip could be a fishing trip... Have a good one and again thanxs. And please take out more then you take in.

Right on driftboat, how about this weekend on the snowcrummy. I'll get a couple of my fishing cronies to join us. you have my E-mail.
Any other fisherman out there want to get away from their wives for the day?

Yarfem- Do you know who owns the property at the gravel bar and some of the other private access sites?
I am a member of Puget Sound Anglers South Sound Chapter. We are trying to put together a pilot program within our club to get fishermen involved in helping to keep accesses on private property open to fishermen. A kind of "Adopt a River" or "Adopt an Access" type of thing.
We are discussing giving it a try on the Nooch and Satsop to begin. Our idea is to hold periodical cleanups and try to find some key locations to provide barrels or garbage bags for litter to be deposited. We would also post signs reminding fishermen that they should pick up after themselves. Club members would remove trash bags when they use the access points (on a regular basis).
Anyone with information on private landowners of accesses on the Nooch or Satsop? I sure would appreciate your help with contacts and/or phone numbers. E-mail me at cougarchitect@aol.com or post here. Thanks!!!

Howdy Kalamabama, when is your next clean-up on the Kalama? I haven`t fished it for 12 years. But I plan on learning it again this spring. Would enjoy coming down and helping with a clean-up. Let me know when. Good Fishin` Bob H.
