I have heard from several reputable guides that they have never caught a hen that was over 20lbs. in WA. I myself have never caught one over 20lbs. Does such a fish really exist?

20+ pound hen on the Skykomish. It was St. Patricks Day 1996 and I was fishing with Olsen's Guide Service. Funny videotape if anybody wants to see it since both the fish and I went completely postal

22lbs. on the North Fork of the Lewis River. 1986.
Saw the indians pull two hens well over 20 lbs out of their nets on the Columbia in 1986. They were targeting the upriver bright chinooks, and no I'm not making this up, they were *angry* because these two monster steelies took up space and time in their nets. Oh well, crap happens.

Im searchin for my 20# hen, thats a real trophy. Dont get me wrong a 20# buck is a awsome fish too, Heck most people dont even get one of thoose, but a 20# hen , now thats 10 times the trophy.
I landed my first 20 Plusser a few days ago didnt know what I had till I did the math but I knew it was big. Boy I felt good watchin that thing swim away. Got some good pics and measurments though. What a fat fish 21.5 in girth and he was only 37.5in long.

I've landed two hens over 20lbs. one on the Snoqualmie, and one on the Sky, the hen on the Sno was a 42 inch march fish, a thing to behold for sure. the Sky fish was an April 41 incher. Fuzzy www.silentapproach.com

Twenty pound hens in 3 of the last 4 seasons. Spring 98, 39" caught with BM Tadpolly on Queets. Spring 99, 40" caught with corkie/eggs on Queets. This season, 40.5" caught with jig on Peninsula ZL.
  Thank you Silent Approach!!!

Ain't that the truth Rubberducky. I still have 3 days left in the season to redeem myself. I'll settle for a 25lbs hen if I have to.
  10-4 good buddy!
