Sounds good . 3/24 works for me. Hope some of you other guys can make it down also. Springers should be in the river. I think I will go and fish the lower river in the AM. Maybe troll the tide water for some big boys. See you there.

Will the campground be open? or perhaps one of those other spots we talked about? I'm not sure if I'll be there but I'm thinking about it. I get to fish the Q with the boss for a few days. 27 - 29 March. Would love to get a shot at those Springers. (and of course I just love to pickup trash!)

Fishguts I will check on the camp sites. If they are not open my place will be open. A camp out sounds good. If it is open I will join you. By the way Kevin says hello.

Sounds like we've got a good start. I'll check with Curtis and Barry to see if they are up for it.

One thought: How about a later start time say 10:30 so we can get a little more time on the river Saturday morning?

I'll start working on the Boss so I can get an early start Friday. I hate setting up a camp in the dark. (Plus it seriously cuts into drinking time )

Yes, Powerguts will be making the trip! I will probably have one or two with me. I am not sure if I will have a spot. I will let you all know as soon as I get word from Barry and Curtis.
Kalamabama;
What would you recommend for trolling Springers?

I went down to the Kalama about 4 weeks ago, and it was pretty bad as far as garbage went. The canyon was pretty messed up by all those inbreeding mofos. I pulled out about 5lbs. of baggem at the beginner's hole.

Cleaning up the canyon makes for good exercise. Too bad I won't be able to make it down.

Fishguts for trolling, cut plug herring seems to be getting good results. I have gotten two just pulling orange wiggle warts with lots of shrimp scent. But you know me I can not fish main stream Columbia. I still have to go talk to the folks at Rainbow park. Will let you know.

I'll try to be there - 10:30am at Pritchard's on 3/24. I probably won't be able to get to the Kalama any earlier to check out which areas need cleaning. I was in the lower river a couple weeks back and it looked okay. But the canyon is always a good bet, as is Modrow.

OK guy's I have asked if they would let us stay at Rainbow park but the answer was no. So it will have to be Pekkens Ferry. Nice place on the Lewis river. Directions are, exit #16 off of I5 Head West off the free way. Follow the road ( the main road) it will bend right and left but just follow it. You will see a windmill on your right a bit past this the road will go left, to the rock pit, at this point you must just go straight down pekkens ferry road. It,s not hard to miss. I will be there setting up camp by 3:00 on friday.Hope to see you campers. For the rest of you comming down. It will be a 10:30 AM meeting at Pricherds as planed. Remember the springers are in!!!!

Southwest Washington got a decent amount of rain this past weekend. If the springers weren't already in the Kalama, this rain should do the trick. Hope to see everyone Saturday.

How much of an influence do the tides have at the mouth of the Lewis and the Kalama? Whats the timing for this weekend?

When trolling herring, can you use mooching weights, or is a dropper neccessary?

Tony;
I have a spot for you Saturday and Sunday. Please send me an e-mail or I will try and call you this evening.
