Aluminum hatch = the day the kill season opens on the Clearwater River and the jet boat traffic and boat wakes make wade fishing unpleasant, if not hazardous for a few days

Fishin' the worm = a marabou streamer fly

Bait = wet flies

Portable sauna = neoprene waders

High percentage water = where steelhead live

Tar Heel Season = 365 days/year

Skinny water = too shallow to hold steelhead or too shallow to float through

Too thick to fish and too thin to plough = the river is "out"

You forgot a couple, Saukit2em.

RimFire - What happens when someone prematurely grabs the bait diver rod and pulls the bait out of the fishes mouth.

Cougd it! - Basically, causing anything bad to happen, especially something on the lines of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Got another brainstorm for you (can you tell I have the afternoon off for web-surfing) "Schooled" A.K.A. "taken to school". When the fish work's you over so well and escapes from a sure hook-up. Had 1 sol-duc silver do this to me right in front of my Brother in law! Classic hard take on a spoon, at the tailout of a nice drift with a 75' run, then double's back at warp speed. Slack lines me big time and spit's the hook Man o' man at my (our) feet! MY 6.3 to 1 reel did'nt save me that time.

Terms used while fishing with buddies.

Chug Chug Chug = drink up mofo so you can have another (have a DD handy please)

Die Fish Die = term given when you are beating a fish with your fists instead of a rock or bonker.

Snipe-ing = flinging lures at a jet sled that decides to drop anchor 30 feet in front of the spot you've been fishing for the past 2 hours since sunrise.

Beeyotch slap = when a cold beer is not given.

doggy-style = ummmmm...boondoggin', yeah that's it.

Seattle Cronies = a gang of guys that pour out of vehicles who you know read the "so accurate" Tacoma Tribune fishing report. They are the guys that have driven since 3am to get to a spot and their buddies stack up beside them. Thus results in the next term:

Wall of Pain = a wall of "anglers" (usually Seattle Cronies or bubbas) who have their closet friends or kin, elbow to elbow, snagging fish...or the PC term "foulhooking".

Pele' Release = those bubbas who think catch and release is to kick the fish from the rocks back into the water.

And my signature "stop licking on that ice cream cone like that before I put you out on the corner and make me some money" = get your @ss in gear and fish instead of dilly dallying.

Lots of good ones used up already . Hmmm. ...

~ ~ "Class 5 rapids" - the first time a novice rows thru some mild riffles.
~ "Boot Wars" - When SAUKit & Parker post pics of each other holding up boots they kept. (true story stay tuned )
~ "Ring o' fire" - ask SAUK for the definition
~ "Watch this" - what Hey_'Yall and other guys from 'Bama say just before they are killed.
~ "OH SHEEYAT - THAT WAS A FISH!!!" - What Superfly says everytime a rock takes his float under. ... jk = just kidding
~ "Bar closin' horny" - when some guys haven't scored a fish all day and then hook and keep a boot just before the boat ramp take out.
~ "Cracker box" - group of rude fishers in a boat together.
~ "Paintin 'em" - when you pour a gallon of bright red oil-based paint onto the water behind your boat after some cracker pulls up on your backtrolling lines and starts fishing despite a warning not to.
~ "Boat talk" - the things guys usually talk most about while out fishing together w/o the ladies around; you know, like the stock market
~ "Milestone" - a real long stretch of annoying light colored basalt rock shelves; like you'd find on the upper 'Nooch or Naselle.
~ "T-Bomb Eggs" - when your buddy puts your freshly rigged egg cluster into a cup of Long Island Tea and you hook a moody King on the first cast with them (try it!).
