I noticed a car from oregon today with a salmon license plate. Is this something special that proceeds go towards salmon enhancement? If so, Is this something that would or could benift us here in washington?
I know you can get seattle mariner plates and even college plates. Would anybody else be interested in paying and extra yearly fee
to have say a steelhead license plate? If enough proceeds where raised it could help all concerned. Just a thought, interested in hearing others opinions on this. Thanks, and

The Oregon plate that you saw costs twice as much as a normal oregon plate. The increase in the biyearly registration fee goes tword the enhancement of the salmon program in oregon. Not a bad idea if you ask me.

Would any Washington anglers be interested in a salmon or steelhead plate for us that would enhance our sport? I sure would. :p

I'd spend the extra dough. already have a "catch and release wild trout" license plate frame front and back on my truck.

They need to offer the specialty plates for the two wheelers as well, since thats what I ride the most. (If you ever see a motorbike with a fishing rod taped to the sissy bar that would be me)

Washington always seems to be the last when it comes to fishing but the first in everything taxes I'm suprised they havent offered them already.

I'm pretty sure that personalized license plates in WA. have some of the fees going to the Fish and Wildlife already. I think also it was a idea from Robert Watson (retired biologist WDFG). fp

Here is what I found from the WDFW page on the Washington plates. "Over 90% of the purchase and the entire renewal fee supports the conservation and management of our fish and wildlife resources"
Initial license plate purchase: $ 44.00
Annual renewal fee: $ 30.00

If I remember right it goes to help non game type of animals in Washington.

I hate like hell to give the faceless bureaucrats moe money, but I did, its for a good cause. I wanted vanity plates anyway. Now my old brown truck has plates that say

PEELR
Salmon

Whew. For a minute there I thought this thread was about putting a little license plate on each fish.

LOL Finegrain!!! I actually had that image run thru my noggin for a sec when I first saw the topic too.

Wish4fish that is a great Idea I think that it will enhance are sport that we all love and want to stay, by that I meen that us the fisherman need to take some action and get the voters to pass so things that are on the ballit for WA fisherman. Once I get my car I will go down and purchase a fishing license plate!

Great idea! I went to DOL'S personal plate page and saw every plate with logos from square dancers to colleges... but no FISH PLATE LOGOS.. what do we need to do to get a SALMON OR STEELHEAD LOGO ON A PLATE?
