Lets get ready to do it again. We get another chance at the Big River. If you cross your fingers and pray to the big guy we might even some days added. I'll see you out there. I'd wish you Good Luck, but with the run this year I don't think Luck is a factor. Good Luck anyhow!

Mainstem Columbia
The lower Columbia from Bonneville Dam downstream to Buoy 10 will re-open to fishing for hatchery salmon, hatchery steelhead, and shad from April 25-29. Adipose fin clipped chinook, adipose fin clipped steelhead, and shad may be kept. Non-adipose clipped chinook and steelhead must be released immediately unharmed. The daily limit is 6 salmon, no more than 2 adults. Minimum size is 12". The hatchery steelhead daily limit is 2 fish, minimum size 20". There is no limit for shad in Washington.
Fishery managers will update the upriver run size again next Tuesday (April 24). As soon as Wednesday, the Oregon and Washington departments of fish and wildlife may determine whether any additional opportunity for the mainstem sport fishery is possible.
On the mainstem Columbia from The Dalles Dam upstream to John Day Dam, all sturgeon must be released through the remainder of the year.
The Ringold area bank only fishery will be open to fishing for spring chinook April 21 through June 15. The open waters are the Columbia River adjacent to Ringold Hatchery from the WDFW markers 1/4 mile downstream of the Ringold irrigation wasteway outlet to the markers ½ mile upstream of Spring Creek (hatchery outlet). Only the hatchery side of the river is open - bank fishing only. Any chinook, regardless of presence or absence of an adipose fin, may be retained. Two salmon daily limit, 12" minimum size. This area will be closed to fishing for steelhead April 21 through July 31.
