Haven't been able to get out due to some kind of flu attack. I really wish there were more reports on the Columbia springers. Is anybody fishing? Are you all too busy cleaning fish to give a report? confused

The lower Columbia 5 day sportfishing extension for springers has definitely been slower than before. It's both because of being on the downside of the lower river run and the tooth tangle commercial net testing taking a portion of the fish. The tributaries are starting out well though and should get really good soon. Some more rain would help.

fish lower end of slough at 6 from 7 til 9 then went to n. end of Sand Is and fished until 4. Saw 1 at 6 and 2 on the hog lines.

Definately slowed way down.

I fished below the Bonneville from the bank today from 5:30am to 12pm. I had 2 hits and only saw 5 fish hooked by the bank fishermen. The boats were not doing very well either. They seemed to hook a fish on average from what I saw every hour. Talked to a local fisherman and he said it has been slow since they reopened it.

Fished the Wind river from 3pm to 6pm from the bank casting wiggle warts and spinners. Fish were rolling but they were not biting. A friend talk to the fish checker and was told only 2 fish had been checked from the boats around noon.

Fished out of the mouth of the Lewis Saturday across and around St. Helens. On Saturday, we saw two fish out of the 100's of boats fishing. Sunday, the wind kept us in the Lewis. We trolled up from *****'s to the Woodland Bridge. Nada. Fished until the breakers from the wind beat us to a pulp.

I did manage to catch and release a fully finned one two weeks ago. Got it on the Prawn with a spin n glo that RT detailed. a while back.

Maybe Ringold next.
