On another thread they all said I need to get a boat and quit whining. So I guess I'm in the market for a small sled. Something in the 14'-16' range. I mostly fish the Satsop and Nooch. Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks

Stopped by Three Rivers Marine in Woodinville on my way home from work yesterday (www.3riversmarine.com) and they have lots of used sleds. Seems like everybody is buying a new boat this year and lots of trade-ins in great shape sitting on the lot.

dude,

Aren't you looking for about a 20 footer with a 200hp pump so you can REALLY show how you feel about driftboats? eek

I'd recommend taking it up around Schaeffer creek and tear-assing around between the driftboats. That way, you'll be sure to meet all kinds of new friends to fish with rolleyes

I'm thrilled to know you'll be cruising the GH tribs with your sled. A sled driver with such a friendly disposition will be a welcomed addition to the armada.

Fishndude, I have a like new cataraft for sale that you can take places the driftboats can't go. And for down river it has a motor mount for up to 6 hp on the aluminum frame. ...

And if you fish with your buddy up there, I can translate "E-dog cool speak" fairly well. Or, I also have a revised addition of the McNaughton's Modern Cool Speak dictionary that I will lend you for your trip 'wit da dog'. laugh

Swell Dude!

Bring another sled to add to the pile over here. Frankly, I think it's a wonderful idea. The wynoochee is seldom fished in the wintertime as is the satsop. I think you will find if you launch at black creek or white bridge on any given weekday or weekend, at most, you will only encounter 1 possibly 2 boats. Don't worry about driftboats. this river just doesn't get the pressure. And bank fishers? Heck, there's no access. Everybody in the Harbor and Olympia areas usually prefer to drive 3 hours to fish the puget sound rivers beause they're more convenient to the malls and have better access. and if you do encounter a bankie or driftboat (which is unlikely) just go roaring through the hole because the Satsop and Wynoochee are plenty big for sleds.

A great investment on your part sir! Enjoy the solitude next winter....you should have it all to yourself. laugh

dude,

You come here and your first post says "Ban the driftboats from the Wynoochee". Not exactly the way to give everybody a warm and fuzzy feeling about you, if you know what I mean.

But, hey, I can let bygones be bygones and move along. wink

Your right DanS,
Fishndud with a sled and his first impression
wouldn't mix to well on the nooch or satsop.
I think fishndud needs to stick with a booggie board and a paddle for his own safty
on water ways in the grays harbor area.Good luck,
