Not looking for sympathy, just want to pass on one of those "freebie reel life experiences", and hope it helps one of you guys some day. I was in Southern Iowa (home of monster whitetails) last week, and was in a pretty nasty car wreck. Was pulled over on the side of the rode at a complete stop (in a Dodge Intrepid)with a couple of other vehicles to let a big tractor trailer rig pass, when I was rear ened by a 3/4 ton pickup going about 50 miles per hour. The car was completely totalled, but I ended up just fine, with a little muscle stiffness. The only thing that kept me from getting pummeled was my seatbelt. I have never been a big user of seat belts, but I can tell you that it was a blessing to have had it on this time. As soon as I got hit, I thought I could hear fish laughing in the back ground. I will never go anywhere without one on from now on. Do yourself and your family a favor. Buckle Up.

Hawk-
Glad to hear you are okay!! And I sure as Hell can second you on the seatbelt advice. I was always a sporadic seatbelt wearer untill the middle of last November.

I was on my way home from the UW and just felt like wearing my seatbelt that day. I was heading north and a women was heading south and preceded to make a left turn in front of me. At 45 mph I slammed on my brakes and tried to swerve and miss her but in the end I managed to hit her head on at about 20-25 mph. My seatbelt kept me pinned to the seat...who knows what would have happened if I decided against wearing my seatbelt that day. My Accord was totalled and I was taken to the hospital on a backboard.

Wear your seatbelts!!!!

Hawk&RP Glad to hear your alright. Seatbelts are life savers. In my profession I go to a lot of wrecks and seatbelts save a lot of people and lack of use injures and kill a lot. They Will keep you from hitting things inside the car and also from going through the windshiled. Keep on wearing them and hope the soreness goes away soon.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

hawk,

A seatbelt is the simplest way to save your own life. I'm glad you put yours on, and spared us having to hear about the untimely demise of one of our own smile

Hawk, I develope all the pictures for the MC Sheriffs, City Police, WSP (Mason County) and The MC Coroners office. If you guys saw what I saw, you wouldn't leave the driveway with out putting on a seat belt!!!!! The deaths and injuries that may have been avoided if people would take a few seconds and put on a seat belt.
