Fished it Sunday from Old Whites Bridge to Black Creek (long float) saw nothing but a few trout, some suckers, and a 20 plus pound winter-run grandad on his last few gulps of O2 sitting in a riffle.
First time I've fished the river, even living as close as I do to it, Ican see why its so popular. Lots of good water to hit (snaggy looking). I've never seen so much lost gear in my life. That also goes for seeing massivbe amounts of tossed out birdsnests, styrofoam bait containers, beer cans and bottles (at least ya'll have the decency to sink them so Only the aquatic critters have to deal with them) and other crap. By the time I got done with my float I was pushing the 350 pound limit on my tote n'float. I start out at about 275 with gear (been consuming the groceries too heavy this spring). Be nice if our fellow "sportsmen" would pick up THEIR OWN #@$$%#@##$ MESS!!!!! I know those sandshrimp containers wiegh alot. Maybee if they are such a pain to pack out all the rivers should go to selective rules. Would get rid of some of the crap. Guess we'd also have to outlaw bringing anything along that could be strewn about as garbage then.
