Just trying to figure out what would be the best GL2 for plunking for steelhead/salmon. Something that will handle slinging the lead . Any suggestions? thanks DRIFT BEGINNER confused

I would look towards the BBR (backbounce rods) series of rods. Alot of these rods are designed to handle large amounts of lead BUT if I were you I wouldnt buy a Loomis for plunking. It is just not necassary.

If you have to have a Loomis to plunk I would use a HSR 1021C it can chuck up to 4 oz of lead no problem, plus its and excellent plug rod for Salmon and Steelhead, Excelent Drift rod for Salmon, and a marginal drift rod for steelhead although I do have a friend thats likes drift fishing for steelhead a lot with his. Pretty much a good all-around rod.
