Well I lost my loomis on the cowlitz last tuesday the 12th this huge fish 40+lb steelhead jerked it right out of my hands so if any of you guys or gals happen to drag a custom built loomis rod that has Doug Richert Jr. on it with a shimano curado left handed reel out of the river would you be so kind as either give me a call at 360-426-0654 after 6pm thanks.

Sorry to hear the bad news. Hey I'm wondering if you have tried to hook the rod? I have been quite successful at recovering lost rods by casting a jig-head into the vicinity. I would expect that the fish either quickly pulled loose or broke the line leaving your rod/reel combo not too far away. The jigs are very effective at hooking either the line or the rod itself, worth a try anyway. Good luck!!

no I have not tried that but next time I go down there I will but I have to work so it kinda sucks

Sorry to hear of your plight. However, I have a friend who can manage to hook onto anything in the river.. except fish... I'll be lookin' and will be glad to call if we get so lucky for you. What area were you on at the time?

I was fishin about 6 or 7 hundred yards below blue crick around the first bend were there is a fallen tree at the corner and a fallen ceder tree about 100 yards down river on the oppsite side. Thanks for all the help.
