Here's a topic that never came up last year. Now why don't the Indians want scientists to examine his skeleton? Do you really think it's about burial rites etc.? Uh Uh -- Could they be afraid that science might reveal that some culture was here before the nomadic asians crossed the land bridge and that perhaps they really are not the original N. American 'natives'... Maybe there was genocide.... Wouldn't it be ironic if Kennewick Man was of Euro decent??
Hmmmmmmm -- Who stole this land from whom ??
Hmmmmmmm

I dunno, I kind of have to side with the natives on this one. They have always held the respect of all things (both living and dead) in much higher regard than us "civilized" folks. And for all the problems that this his caused, I would think that it would be better to just give him back to the tribes and go dig someplace else.

What they haven't told the public yet, is that he was found with a Loomis rod and Shimano reel in his hand, had a pair of Simms breathables on, and an arrow in his side. Pretty solid evidence that he wasn't of indian origin. No indian has ever fished that way. laugh

Backlash2 -- clever humor

Andy M -- You don't need a permit for trapping those critters now because it has been a TRADITION in your family for eons! Go for it......

Blueback -- You 'da man' now.. So let's see;

We get all the 'perks' of the conquered but still remain a soverign nation, right??

Drop the BIA and bring on the BCA (bureau caucasian affairs)

We get your attorneys (they always win) but you get to pay for them.. he he he

Elk season is now closed but since I'm having a little family celebration soon I can go pop me an elk tomorrow, alright!

My booze and smokes are tax free now, and no more damned income taxes, alright!

What a deal, whoopee.....

Thanks Blueback (and Kennewick Man)

Oh yes, please stop netting our rivers, boss.

SOOOWWEEEEEET!

I'll go set those body gripping traps right away! Does it also mean that I can also trap 'em any way I can. If so then it's time to pull out the device that involve some pipe, a nail, a few rubber bands, some wire, a few feet of twobafour, one 3" .410 shotgun shell and a potato! It works great, but it takes a lot more moles to make a ceremonial cape this way. laugh

Bets of luck to all, and please don't be offended, I have nothing against our conquerors or potatos. Andy

Blueback--

Thanks for the typical reply that I have come to expect from the greedy and out of touch with nature group. I made a simple, lighthearted joke, and you get all offended rolleyes I know you never make any lighthearted references to 'the other native americans' Go figure....

BTW-- I would take those rights, but I'm smart enough to realize it's a huge waste of my time to spend day after day after day netting the hell out of all the pikeminnows and shad, just to leave them in large piles rotting along the shoreline. laugh

I thought that Blueback was actually taking a humorous stance on the issue confused Maybe I'm wrong, but at least let him answer. Everyone is so touchy now days! I did like the part about the rotting fish on the bank.

BTW I heard that all of the fish egg buyers now have to buy the whole fish, not just the eggs, so we should see less gutted fish thrown away on the shoreline.
