I have in my possession a kitchen pass from my wife that will allow me to head up to Sekiu on the weekend of July 14th and 15th. My boat partner can't go, he gets to spend some quality time at the Yakima firing center. Too bad for him.

Are there any of you folks who would be willing to trade a salmon trip for a steelhead trip?

I plan on leaving the Olympia area around noon. I have an 18 foot Seaswirl bowrider, with two motors, GPS, and bases for Penn downriggers. If you have a 600 or 625, or have access to one, great, otherwise I am considering buying another. Two fish finders on the boat, plus all safety gear.

My plans are to rough it at the Coho campground, and I can get a spot reserved without any issue.

If this sounds interesting, let me know, as I think I may have room for one or two additional folks.

The primary requirement is that you have a riverboat, not a paddlewheel, and that you are an experienced steelheader.

Looking forward to it, Andy

Oh, Man! I would love to go. I have a couple of 600's and could even trade out the trip on my old 18' Eastside, but I have to attend a convention in Salem begining the 15th

Sorry about the trip, Gutz. I have one 600, but two bases. Talked to a friend of mine in Clallam Bay to confirm reservations nd she said that very few kings are around now, but that they usually start hitting them hard mid July and on. With a 2000 king limit, they won't last long.

I still have two spots open if someone even just wants to come up for one of the days. Andy

Sounds like fun Andy. I have a river boat, and I'm an experienced Steelheader. There's just one problem.... I get sea sick.... I don't mean just a little sea sick.... I get f#*@$%g sea sick! Oh well, maybe in the next life.

Hi Zozo,

I am planning a few trips up to Humpy Hollow in August to chase the pinks. I may also try to hit that Tulalip bubble fishery. Maybe you could tag along on one of those trips. Or if we are lucky enough, a trip to Lake Washington for sockeye. If you can handle a day on the river, you should be able to handle any of these. Andy

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

andy,

I'd love to take you up on your offer, but unfortunately I have to work an airshow up in Arlington that weekend. frown

Let me know when you've got future plans cooking and maybe we can hook up. I was so desperate for saltwater fishing that I went on a charter boat out of Westport today (21 guys limited with 1 silver/1 king by 10 am). so you know I'm anxious to go.

Let us know how you do up there wink

Hey Andy;
I think the quota is 2000 ! Not 200.

Andy, I am pretty sure I will be available.

When are you leaving and returning? I have no downrigger but I do have a 16' Hyde driftboat and go fishing for steelies a lot on the peninsula. send me some email and we can work out the details. pat_herbig@yahoo.com smile
