Does Anyone know where I can get the floor mounted type of ancor release mechanism (BO's) for a drift boat, the ones that you release with a stomp of the foot? I have seen them in clackacraft boats before.

I have one in my Koffler drift boat really like it. Try to call them up they may be able to help. Also fishermans in delta park has had them in the past.

Not sure where you can find one, but I do advise you consider the alternatives.

They can be released by accident much easier than other releases and when you're rowing bigger water, that's a concern you want to keep in mind!

Another problem is something I watch a guide I work with a lot have his his set-up ... have fun geting it to work for the first part of the day in sub-freezing conditions of winter steelheading

You can purchase a release for the floor from Bo's Anchor Release,Albany,Or.541-928-8541. He makes the ones for Fish-Rite Boats. Small co., but big service.

Don't worry about the line freezing line in the tube, just spray your line with a little WD-40 where it goes into the tube the night before a big freeze. I have had more of a prob. with the extra line freezing in the bottom of the boat. Never had a prob. with the release as my feet rest on a foot rest in the boat and the release is almost under my fish box and I have to pull my foot back to release the stop.
