Howdy,

Me again. My dad and I are headed up to Sekiu on Friday morning. We will be there until Sunday. Is anyone interested in heading up there for even one day of fishing? I may take the boat up to Neah Bay on Saturday or Sunday to take a poke at the kings outside of Tatoosh.

Boat: 18 foot Seaswirl w/ 140hp and a 6hp. All safety gear except for vhs marine. Cell phone on board w/ good reception through the straight. GPS (fog less of a worry), two downriggers (second one arrives tomorrow), set up to run four lines trolling trash or whatever. Only 1 fishfinder, as the 13 year old Interphase 20/20 went tits-up last Sunday and it won't be back in time from the repair shop.

Gear: Rods suitable for catching salmon and possibly halibut, sleeping bag, tent, food or money for food. No change of clothes needed, the fish simply don't care. I will have all of the camp kitchen stuff necessary. 120 quart fish cooler will be on board.

Sleep: Who needs it? But for those wimps out there, we will be staying at the campground of the rich and famous, the illustrious Coho Campground. Tents will be the standard so either bring one, or you can stay in your truck. Showers and restrooms available, but again the fish don't care.

Cost: Depends.

If you have a riverboat, (drift or sled, no paddlewheels), and you are willing to trade a trip to teach me how to catch steelhead, you only pay for the gas it costs you to get up there and your food. I will take care of the rest. Fair enough?

No boat to trade a trip with. You pay for your gas to get up there, food, your share of the camp fees, and all gas used that day for both motors (probably about $3.00 for camp fees and $10-20 for gas ). Folks with a trade would get preferrence.

Prey: Silvers and halibut, possibly kings outside of Tatoosh. (stray canadians may be taken as a deletrious specie) We will fish hard, Friday afternoon until we get tired or an hour before dark, a minimum of 8 hours beginning around 4:30 or 5:00am on Saturday, maybe a little less on Sunday, . If you can't make it that early, you could still call us by cell phone and we could pick you up at the dock.

Let me know by Thursday afternoon at the latest. Last Sunday I had 12 fish on and landed 8 in three hours of fishing all by myself. It was an awesome morning, but some company would have been nice.

I am really interested in learning how to fish for steelhead. I already know saltwater tactics for salmon.

Andy
