I posted about this months ago. Had a dispute with a poster on here. Made a rod trade with him, he got my rod but he stiffed me. I had bad luck with police originally. Played alot of phonetag but never got ahold of them to help me.

WELL.........guess who's back? He was selling the curado lately, in exchange for a noodle rod. He changed his ID and also changed his email address. I saved all his emails and I FINALLY got ahold of Clark County Sheriff's who forwarded me to the Washougal Police Dept. Well, I need some help from you who live down there. The WPD will do what they can, but since it's a dispute they can take statements. I need someone in the area to talk to this guy. I have his name/address. I figured if I got enough guys to talk to him he'll step up to the plate and do what's right. I have saved ALL his emails. I'll forward some if you want to see I'm not just trying to screw with him. I'm hoping to make a trip down there and make a visit to him.

I'll send his home address to all that ask for it. I haven't talked with Bob Dawson for awhile, not sure if he still posts here. He was quite helpful and maybe he can help me more. My big problem is to take him to court over this would cost me more in loss pay then rod is worth. This isn't a good thing. So any help would be appreciated.

Thanks. Jerry

I went through the same thing as you, just last year. One incident involved a reel, and the other was a rod. It sure sucks when someone treats you that way. I have to believe that most of the guys are pretty honest, but there are a few turds floating around out there.

If any part of these transactions took place through USPS mail and one of the parties screws the other, then you are officially dealing with MAIL FRAUD which therefore becomes a federal offense with federal-type punishments.

Contact your local postmaster to get the forms necessary to work with this.

Jerry,
I told you months ago when you first posted about getting stiffed to contact the postmaster general and let them know what happened. It clearly constitutes mail fraud.
And if nothing, else, take Timberman down with ya for a little "chat".
But hey Jerry,
I went bck and looked at that post for the curado and I can`t help but have to wonder, why did you offer to trade a noodle rod with him for the curado reel in his recent post?
confused

The inexpensive way to do it is to take the guy to small claims court in the county where he lives. You would probably be looking at $15 to $25 to file the claim. Sure, you'll spend more in gas driving down for the date, but you can put that in your claim as well for related expenses. You would have to take it there, because that is where he didn't live up to his part of the bargain. Best of luck with this a--hole. Andy

Actually, I did file with postmaster general. I've never heard a word from them. I've been tempted to resend another in. No, I never sent him the noodle rod. This was a fly rod I sent along time ago. The curado is worth about same as my noodle rod. I don't use it anymore and I know someone who'll trade me a rod I want for a curado. So was gonna be a multilevel transaction.

About small claims, yes, I'll get money for gas and filing back. But they won't reimburse you for loss wages for the day. I make well more take home in a day then the rod is worth. I'd get some money back, but would lose either way.

I may just take up TM on this. I haven't heard back from the police yet, so not sure if they contacted him yet or not.

I guess we'll see....

Yes its the same guy. He disappeared shortly after I confronted him again about my previous rod he owed me. Oh yeah, I got your email. If you can arrange for him to send me the money he owes me, let him know I want funds sent via certified check or money order. I will not take a personal check.
