I went through the same thing as you, just last year. One incident involved a reel, and the other was a rod. It sure sucks when someone treats you that way. I have to believe that most of the guys are pretty honest, but there are a few turds floating around out there.

If any part of these transactions took place through USPS mail and one of the parties screws the other, then you are officially dealing with MAIL FRAUD which therefore becomes a federal offense with federal-type punishments.
Contact your local postmaster to get the forms necessary to work with this.

Jerry, I told you months ago when you first posted about getting stiffed to contact the postmaster general and let them know what happened. It clearly constitutes mail fraud. And if nothing, else, take Timberman down with ya for a little "chat". But hey Jerry, I went bck and looked at that post for the curado and I can`t help but have to wonder, why did you offer to trade a noodle rod with him for the curado reel in his recent post? The inexpensive way to do it is to take the guy to small claims court in the county where he lives. You would probably be looking at $15 to $25 to file the claim. Sure, you'll spend more in gas driving down for the date, but you can put that in your claim as well for related expenses. You would have to take it there, because that is where he didn't live up to his part of the bargain. Best of luck with this a--hole. Andy
