I am considering adding an electric motor to my sled. I like quiet. Has any body tried the bowmount badboy? Does remote steering work in this app? What size should I get? Any insight would be help

I'm no expert on this but I did try to mount my electric to the bow of my aluminum lake boat. Unless I kept the gas motor in back of the boat down as a sort of skeg I had no control of the boat. Basically it would track sideways. With a sled you might have the same problem with mounting it up front.

I fished in my buddies jet boat this weekend and he had a bow mount electric with the remote steering and it worked like a charm for us!

What bow mount are you looking at? I have a 19' Aluminum deep V I/O and am thinking I might want an electric up front. I have also looked at the one that attaches to the lower unit. I saw an outboard (125 HP) with it on the lower unit. He said he could fish 6 hrs of lake trolling and not kill the batterys. I don't think it will work on my I/O with powersteering. It looked cool! I think he said it was in bass pro. Post a topic if you buy a bow mount and it works.

o mykis, I use a bow mount on my little sled. It works a lot better than the rear mount one. The bow mount steers a lot eaiser. With the bow mount I can get 2 days out of a battery, with the rear mount I have to pack 2 batteries. I have the remote mounted on a pedistal so I can move it to whichever side I'm fishing on. I still use a rear mount when I'm fishing alone. It's kinda tuff to run up to the front of the boat to put it down and pick it up.
