A buddy of mine who owns a Wild Hair driftboat called both their numbers to ask them a couple questions and both numbers were disconnected.

Anyone know the scoop???

I just bought a wild hair sled from a guy in Oregon City. He tried calling the numbers also, but with no luck. He thought that the owner had passed away, he knew he had been sick for a while. Hope this helps.

I have not heard anything about them going down, but it would be good for the aluminum boat industry right now. The market is just way to flooded, especially since Wildhair was a disgrunteld X willie employee who probably stole some trade secrets when he left. I hope any of the employee's who lost there jobs can find work quickly.

Wild Hair was closed due to the owners health conditions, not due to a flooded market or any other speculative reason.

Superfly, not all people who leave a job are disgruntled employees who are stealing trade secrets. Some just want to have their own business. Don't forget that Willie Illingsworth use to be part of Alumaweld. He felt his way of building boats was better than his partners, so he left and started Willie Boats. I agree with him, as I bought a Willie.
As for it being good for the industry, I don't like to see anyone lose what they have put a lot of effort into, especially when it is due to conditions out of their control, in this case their health.
Why attack someone you don't know, and then use "Peace Superfly" in your sign off?

Ryan...The owner of WildHair has been severely
ill. And I hope this thread takes a little nicer turn. Bob has certainly liked his boats. And even so, someone is jumping the gun here. I do know that his vision would not allow him to do his work and he was going to have eye surgery with a long recuperation.

Re: WildHair Boats

We are all wishing Mike the best of luck on his surgery. The recovery period for each eye
is long and hard......When he has his sight
back I plan to find him and ask him to build me a boat! laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh
