OK dudes, I'll meet ya with a package of knee pads on any river at anytime. wink Likely most other F III guys too - to clean our fish of course. (I just can't on the 13th/14th due to an unchangable family committment). You WA's decide and we will likely follow you almost anywhere. laugh

personally,i think everybody ought to stick to the original plan.i've set the 6th of october aside to fish with and meet all you good guys of the bb's.i would think if we have to fish a bigger river they should be enough sleds to go around.i will also bet money it will rain by the planned date.as far as the amount of fish in the chehalis system right now their is certainly less than last year at this time, but their is also a 7 day a week ocean fishery going on,the commercials went in for 2 days sept4 to the 6th,the tribe is netting the river 3 days a week for the next 3 weeks and the commercial guys go in again oct 4th to the 5th for 12 hours more.as of sept 16th the ocean fishery has harvested 15,393 chinook and 64,459 coho,i would guess the actual harvest is a lot more than that.granted these are not all chehalis trib fish but all of the above has a impact on the amount of fish we are currently seeing.who knows how many fish the tribes are taking but i've heard they did well last week.scott

How about the Harrison and Vedder rivers on the 6th. That's where I'll be. All 5 salmon species there and the Vedder will have those pissed off nooks available, a lot brighter than this one.

Ohhhh Yeah, chicks dig the floppy ears.

When we first started discussing the river of choice we had said the Sop unless there was no water in which case it would swich to either the Cow or the N.F.

Seems to me that is what should be done.

That said I would rather wait for the water as I will be spending the week following on the O.P. and what with traveling 750 miles to get there I would just as soon have optimal conditions. I.E Good water and lots of fresh fiesty finned fishey's flipflopping frivously for fishing fools.

Better check the flows! Satsop is a trickle. Need 2 to 3 solid inches of rain to bring it up. The deep holes aint so deep, and the gravel bars look like islands. If we don't get some rain you all better slap on a fresh coat of Gluvit on the db bottoms. You sledders better bring your come-alongs. Better yet if it doesn't rain you can just drive downstream and pull guys off the bars with your bumper winch!

Relax, Paranoid.

The Satsop doesn't need to be much more than a trickle for good action.......it surely doesn't need to be anywhere close to 2000 cfs. My best day for silvers last year was at 690 cfs, on its way down from 1100 cfs.

A couple days of rain is all it will take.

Let's hope for rain but if it's low and clear it will definatly test knowledge and skill!! But we've got to watch out them orygunners might do some of that spot and jerk fishing, while RT is using them knee pads he can also check for some hook marks. eek wink
No worries Dan, even if the river is flowing 200 cfs it's better than the 75-150 cfs tricklers down here that we've fished recently with great success. If they're their they'll bite. laugh

I would like to cast my vote for the Cowlitz. I just think it will be more fun to be on a bigger river with the full strength of Flotilla III. I hope I can be there. The Satsop is good but it's a madhouse when anybody thinks the fish are in. I think we may also have a problem with timing the water level on the Satsop.

We should just leave it at the sop. who cares what the water level is at right now. this is the northwest we only have two seasons here Wet and August. so it will rain.
Hell I bet we could get RT and all of his OR buddies to do a Rain dance for us too laugh And if we dont get any rain then we can change it at the last minute besides who really cares it's all in good fun right
