Just walked out to the gararge to see that my dog had eaten my pro-cured eggs. Is this a real bad thing? The label on the pro cure bottle says if you are sensitive to sulfite that she could have a severe alergic reaction. Other than that, is it relatively ok?
Thanks

It may not be the same as the dog eating the fishes flesh but I would not take the chance.
The safest action is first get the dog to throw-up whats in its stomach. This is done by forcing it to swallow about 5 or 6 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide. Hold its mouth open with one hand and pour the h-p down its throat. It can take 2 to 15 min for it to work. Next get it to the vet. I saved mine this way. I am very sorry this is posted so late but I just checked the board before hitting the sack. Good Luck

A good friend of mines dog ate about 2 lbs. of pro cured eggs last year and seemed to suffer no adverse effects. Hopefully this will hold true for your dog also.

Try to be positive about this......just think, your dog may not survive but will become pinkish red and last a long time.

One of my cats ate eggs I had curing. It was just eggs and borax so I wasn't worried about the cats. Wouldn't have been that big of loss anyways smile. I was ticked off about losing 2 hens worth of eggs though.

My black lab pulled that stunt on me last week. He did not turn a funny orange color, but I hope he lasts a long time because he is a duck retrieving machine! He suffered no ill effects, other than the H*ll he got from me! eek
