The Sky Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited will be having its annual Fall Salmon Shootout on Saturday, September 29. We will be targeting coho this year. Cost to enter the derby will be $10.00 for adults and free for kids under 15 although kids still must be registered. You can register with Gary Bee by e-mail (see address in my profile) or call me at 360-794-6378 or send your money to the Chapter at PO Box 542, Monroe, WA 98272. Anyone can register; members and non-members alike. Rules are simple: the target species is coho; your fish must be legally caught anywhere in the Snohomish River System which includes the Skykomish, Snoqualmie etc.; if your fishing from a boat, everyone actively fishing in your boat must be registered in the derby. Prizes are: $150.00 for the LARGEST FIN-CLIPPED coho; that is a hatchery produced coho with a healed fin-clip. $100.00 for the largest overall coho, wild or hatchery. $50.00 for second largest. $25.00 for third largest. Size will be determined by weight. Weigh-in will be from 2:30 to 3:30 PM at the Lewis Street boat launch on the Skykomish in Monroe. Hope to meet some of this board’s members! Last year Todd Ripley took second & third in our chum derby. This is not a big event as last year I think we had about 30 entries so your chances are good.

Beezer,

Parker ain't gonna play this year because he is going to be huntin' dem bears rolleyes

I don't have clients scheduled for that weekend and that means I will be bringing Superfly with me. Should be really interesting as there will be some serious heavy hitters out there this year.

Team Vision is gonna kick some serious silver ass! You can bet on it! laugh

Sorry Beezer. Would love to play, but am going after big ol' bahrs that weekend. (that's bears for non-bahr folks). Can't pass up the opportunity for a bahr hunt and a barh skin rug for the house!

I hear The Kid is lining (heh, no pun intended) up some heavy hitters for Team Vision this year. Watch out guys and gals! wink

Theres also a Derby this weekend as well. The 22nd and 23rd put on by the Everett Steelhead & Salmon club and Snohomish Sportsmens club. Proceeds go to fish enhancement.

I'll be there!

I think the main prize is a boat. They also have a rafle and some nice cash prizes.

They have weigh in stations set up from 10am until 4pm sat, and 10am til 2pm sunday. The latest you can enter is Sunday morning at 9am. Weigh in stations where you can prolly purchase your entry are at 10th st. public launch, 10th and marine view drive, everett. And at Cady park (maple street) in snohomish on the river.
