I'm so excited that I may pee my pants...I just got a kitchen pass to fish for the entire weekend and will be headed out onto the Columbia and or possibly the Snake.
Thinking about Draino, above the John Day, mouth of the John Day,McNary,Ringold, mouth of the Toucannon, Hellers Bar,and the mouth of the Clearwater. Lots of options and not enough time!
Got great reports of all areas mentioned above.
Need some advice on what will work. Any ideas out there??

MacSteely,

It's good to see a fellow Tri-Citian on the board. Let me know how you did and where you went. I'm still waiting around for these salmon on the Yakima to get here. Good Luck!

I can definately advise against fishing Ringold. I have been there since Wednesday morning and it has been very slow. Today there was only 1 fish checked, from a guide with four clients. I'm seriously considering hitting the Snake for some steelheading.
Good Luck

Nice to see the Tri-Cities get some representation here. I, too, have not done well at Ringold (above the powerlines), but heard a rumor that that they're smacking the heck out of the kings at the mouth of the Yakima (of all places!) I might try that this weekend, and thinking about hitting the Snake for some steelies too--any suggestions of how and where? laugh

Just drove out to Pasco from Richland. There are quite a few boats off of Bateman Island. The rumors may be true. Only one way to find out!

I heard the same thing about the Yak-A-Hak. Lots of Salmon. Were heading down stream to Draino and where the mouth of Little White Salmon pours into the mighty Columbia. Let ya all know how things turned out early next week. cool laugh wink

Ringold was pretty dead again this morning.

On another topic, if any of you Tri-Citians are waterfowlers (greenhead) I'm new in town and don't have any regular hunting partners. I have a boat and a bunch of decoys and every other Friday off. Feel free to email me.

Thanks for the info Fishtale. Sounds like they are doing real well out there. I figured the fish were holding out there waiting for the water temps to drop a bit before entering. I wish I could get out there. I may have to float the lower Yak in the morning and see what happens.
