It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Another rumor, heard there was a school of fish at the mouth of the Columbia that is 7 miles long. How these tales get started I don't. Duck In The Fog

It's not over. I have heard rumors about fly overs from ship pilots going out to ships who claim to be able to see the fish hanging off the mouth of the Columbia. I don't know about it being a school of fish 7 miles long though. However, I do know that I have had one of my best years to date and Octobers ever down there. Best day was 37. There are so many Silvers jumping after high tide it is nuts. For example, Friday, in the 2 hours after high tide (From 10a-12p) I caught 5 silvers fishing off the N. Jetty and the limits still 4. 1 had too many fins. 2 were 15 lbs, covered in lice and the bucks are just showing a slight hook nose. Fresh herring has been the key for me, finding it requires a long drive or a Seattle contact. I saw only 1 other fisherman. Wish I was there again today.... Gotta wait 'til Monday. Great for stocking up an egg supply. No secret. Lots of room, lots of fish, go get 'em. x

I caught two bright silver hens this morning before the Mariners game. Seems like the run is still on.

C&R 3 silvers 2 5lbs and 2lbs all hatchery fish. Got one of them on my 5 weight flyrod. I fished for 2 hours and I seemed to catch them in 45 minutes. The run is not over.

The hatchery on Big Creek over by Astoria is expecting sixty thou-thou-thou-thousand silvers to come up there. We ran into a decent surge of them this past weekend with several doubles and a triple in one hole with 20+ shiny fish coming out of it.
The run's over. There's nothing to look at here. Move along.
