$43,000,000: the amount that the Bush administration gave the Afghanistan government (pronounced "Taliban") in May 2001 for their assistance in the War on Drugs. Curiously enough it was presented by Gen. Colin Powell.

Elite forces went into Afghanistan in 1993 and extracted the men behind the WTC bombing. They were tried and convicted. We even had a deal with Saudi Arabia to have them hand over bin Laden, yet they decided not to honor it at the last minute instead deciding that he was not worth the hassle.

With a foreign policy like what the US subscribes to it is no wonder that Middle Eastern countries are for the most part unwilling to assist us in the aprehension of these criminals.
