Beautiful day yesterday, wasn't it? Made that much more beautiful by fishing the Kalama with our friends Hey Y`all Yer Daughter's Purdy and Willierower. The fishing was beautiful at least. I'll refrain from making judgement calls on those two's beauty, however.

It wasn't as crazy as it was earlier in the week but fish were caught. I won't go into details about WHO caught the fish other than I ended up with a fishy smelling burlap sack in the back of the Escort. wink

Willierower and the prostaff at Kalama River Bait and Tackle are a class-act group of folks, and the "Wig o' Death" earned it's name yesterday. I also located the "burrito o' Death" in their store too, and it has earned that title today as I fumigate my cubicle.

Thanks for your hospitality, everyone. I got some more practice at filleting fish last night and this time I think I actually left less flesh on the carcass and the skin than I actually filleted off! Progress!

Yes the people at the Kalama River Bait and Tackle are first rate. I was in there Saturday and Mrs Willierower (don't know her moniker) helped bind my wound. I tried to sacrifice my finger to the fish gods in gratitued for my wifes first salomn. I want to thank you again for all the help. And I will be sure to stop in the next time I am down there. Have to I forgot that I was going to buy some of those custom painted plugs.

Progress is good Dave!!!
Im glad you had fun, and as far as us being a "Class" act, I dont know about that, lol, but thanks for the compliment. It was really great to meet you after I idolized the "traction control" reply. Willie will be happy to know I gave his rod, that he was kind enough to let me borrow since I broke my Loomis... :(, a thorough wash down. There is absolutely NO SMAG on it. Osprey would be so proud of me..hehehehe
And by the way, did you ever think you might have less gut rot, if you at least would have warmed your burrito up?, LMAO. Thanks for stopping in, it was very nice meeting you and I admire you for surviving fishing with Willie and Ya'all at the same time. Wow how'd ya do it?.lol

Youre very welcome BW, and congrats on the wifes first Salmon!!! It seems lately I have had to sacrafice a few things to the fish gods myself, so I know how you feel. I got hung in a tree across the river from where I was fishing and as I gave it the one last heave ho, my slinky came back and got me in the leg, and I have to say it was painful. I had a mighty big bruise, but the next cast out I hooked a 30+ pound chinook hen so she made the battle worth it.
Thanks for stopping and I look forward to and the Mrs. visiting again soon!

Sandra,

Let's just say he's a veteran of fishing with me so the survival rates go way up for some reason rolleyes wink laugh

Thanks again for holding my wig of death for me. Paul put on a nice demonstration after my southern hospitality wink

Also, thanks for giving Dave those fish. Even though he only carried them from the car to the sink, it will still give him good practice on how to properly carry his catch when he's showing off. His car would have been full last week that's for sure!

Still a ton of fish moving through and you guys need to stock up on those Wigs of Death! I'm sold. Give you a test run shortly on another river.

You just couldn't let me have a whole hour of strutting around, could you? Ah well, at least I don't have to find another dumb tie for my uncles birthday. I just hope he doesn't mind his present being frozen and double-wrapped in garbage bags... wink

It was nice to finall y meet the infamous Heywood Jablomie (Dave). You will need to come up again sometime and do another float, This next time we will do a longer one.
Hey Yall, Itwas good seeing you again. You will need to learn how to cast a little faster when you fish with me laugh Oh yeah! Next time the sucker flossing lessons will cost you. It takes great skill to floss those little buggers. eek
Thanks again for coming out to see us. Lets do it again soon.
