This topic has nothing to do with fishing... well maybe it does if the outdoor channel is on. But, this is the way I figured I could reach a mass majority of people. All we have is regular 7 or 8 channel tv; it's so pathetic I don't even know how many channels we get. Cable is not an option for us, so we have been looking into a satellite company. I want to hear any reviews good or bad of any companies, and if we should be leaning towards one or another. Thanks.

Matt

Its pretty much a toss-up on which sattelite system you get.I think Dishnetwork might have a few more outdoors channels. But what you get on either one depends on how much you want to spend.Figure about $60 for a pretty fair selection with premium channels. You can spend a lot more if you want though.
You might just want to check out the specials that Direct tv and Dish network are having and go with what you feel like is the best deal.
You can save money by installing it yourself and its pretty easy.
It looks like General motors is going to sell Directv to echostar which owns dishnet.so Before long I doubt if there will be much difference in packaging at all.

Too bad DirectTV is being sold to Dish Network.

A past roommate of mine signed up for Dish Network almost one year ago then moved out and I've been stuck with the service ever since. As soon as the one year contract expires I will be cancelling. Fortunately, I have other options and have signed up for regular cable. The problems I've had consist of very long hold times for customer service (10 minutes plus), unreliable service and the numerous times when I've called about the service and inevitably have to listen to the Dish Network service agents threaten to "charge my credit card" if I don't follow their rules. At any rate, I'd say surf the web and check out what other people have to say about Dish Network and other providers. If it came down to using Dish Network again or going without...I'd have to say I'd rather go without.
