We all have our ways to get to the fish, so I hope lots of you guys have good whitewater boating pics to share. I still love rowing whitewater, and love to see lots of good pictures of people having fun doing it.

The 2 summers following my Jr. & Sr. years in college I worked as a rafting guide for Lute Jerstad Adventures (river and mountain treks). These first 2 are on the Deschutes River.

These 2 are on the Rogue River - Rainee Falls and Blossom Bar.

Years later I was rafting the upper Clackamas (spring runoff in the Ripplebrook section)....

.... and rubber kyaking the headwaters of the Rogue.

Later on it gets easier on my back in my first V-sled running down McIver Rapids ....

.... and back up thru them.

Share some of your whitewater shots - fun to look at.

Edit: Gee those turned out small. You can see the rafts by using that pic site I put up and enlarging the photos. Except in the Rainee Falls pic - my raft and I are 6 ft. under the whitewater at the bottom of the falls .... NOT. I did some crazy stuff, but never fool stuff. It's hard to see the line of rafts at the top of that small photo; but we all lined them down thru the semi-natural man made rock fish ladder, on the north side out of the pic.

Thanks for the reminder of those indelable figurine pics in the 'shrine', Aunty. What a "unique" site, eh? Hey, maybe she will see these pics and cut the lifejacket tease? ... I don't think so. wink

Going thru rapids in a v sled isn't that hard to do. Try backing down thru some good rapids backwards in a flat sled!

Paul (Willie Rower) sent these pics and asked me to post them. They are of whitewater racing jetboats on Oregon's Rogue River. These guys got some kinda nads! eek

Some just fly over the rapids

Others don't land the right way

Some go the conventional route

But most seem to just fly over the rapids in these rad jets

Would this be considered a jetboat 'wheelstand'?

Hey, if those pro bassers thru out the southeast can earn 7 figure incomes from their racing bass boats in combo with catching those little fish - why couldn't we have a northwest circuit using these racing jetboats and catching steelhead for multi-million dollar tournament tours? ... Sounds like a good idea to me. But you go first. wink

Thanks Paul. - Steve

Those guy are not quit right in the head. Well Im not either, Ive ridden in one of those boats on the lower Rogue. 110+ MPH on the water is a little too fast for me. The pucker factor was off the scale on that ride eek

Lets get some more pics on this thread! I have one of me in my drift boat on the South Santiam in high water. I will try to dig it up, get it scanned and figure out how to get it on here.
