I realize this is a fish forum, however I figured since the thread of digitial cameras came out I thought I would ask about recommended camcorders for my fishing trips and family outings. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know too much about them. A good friend of mine has the Canon ZR-10 and it's really nice. Good quality and it's nice and small.

I've seen some really good deals go through Amazon.com lately like this one going for $449, and with a $100 rebate it'll take it down to $349. Looks to have pretty good reviews, too.

For a good overall first miniDV camera it is an excellent value.
