I was curious if any of you west sounders out there belong to the

Hood Canal Salmon Enhancement Group.

I looks likes like an interesting group that does alot of volunteer work on the rivers and streams around hood canal. Here is their website.

http://www.hcseg.com/

I am seriously considering joining. Time to be part of the solution.

I know the president of the group. Its a worthwile effort. Their work primarily involves habitat restoration and work on unique incubation techniques to be used to kick start depressed runs. There is probably other things they do as well, I just have not talked aboout them yet.

Another great organization that has been around for a while is Long Live the Kings. They also have a few projects dealing with the summer chum and steelhead restorations of Hood Canal, along with a few other projects on the coast. Long Live the Kings Too many organizations.....Too little time.

my buddy worked on it last summer. He really liked it and said he learned a lot. Also I think he said he got a scholorship or something like that.

I worked for the Hood canal salmon enhancment group last summer (I was scholarship winner as well) and I think it is a great organisation, as is Long Live the kings, which i did some projects with at the end of the summer, both seem to be quite productive organisations, if you have any questions that i may know the answeres to feel free to ask ...

I am a member of the group and have worked on various projects with them over the last three years, I have not done much this year because of other commitments. I worked on the catching and spawning of summer chum in several of the rivers they are on. Good people with great ideas and very active politically. Long live the kings is like the corporate arm of the hood canal group.

About two years ago I worked for them it was lots of fun and they work they do is hell most of the stuff is water surveying in the summer checkin for flow and river width and grade stuff like that its a worth while org. and the people are great there too. There offices in Belfair are quite nice too very well kept by the crew there.
