Hey All,

I was out the other day, and curing a bad backlash had to cut some mono off my reel. Then I had to try and ball it up and stick it in the pocket of my jacket to take it out with me. I found that it kept wanting to "creep" back out of my coat. I was just wondering if anybody had a good trick for carrying the junk scraps that you produce (or find left by someone else, so that you can dispose of them later. Thanks in advance for any advice. Good luck this weekend.
Tom

I always carry a ziplock bag or 3 in my tackle box. They work good for line, egg skeins, oysters, the accidental finger while trying to get the oysters, etc.

Handy item to have around wink

Well, if you are down in the Wind River canyon it is apparently OK to just toss it on the rocks any old place you like.

Yeah, that's where the line goes on some rivers, unfortunately. I just hate it when I'm walking along, unaware that I'd stepped in a pile of mono and am dragging it behind me (kinda embarassing, but not as embarassing as dragging toilet paper laugh ). Sometimes that stuff can even trip a guy up. frown

The only thing I hate seeing worse than beer bottles and cans on the river banks is a bunch of discarded line! I mean, why the hell can't everyone carry their crap out instead of leaving it as a reminder of their stupidity! A couple of extra rubberbands works good for a ball of fishing line, just wad it all up then wrap the rubberband around it tight, it won't be creeping out of you vest pocket then.
Oh! here's another little rant....when you take that dump in the woods, and we all do at some point, PLEASE take the time to cover your pile! Some rocks, dirt, leaves, whatever and oh yeah, try to squat somewhere AWAY from the trail!
Thanks, your mother will be proud of you.

Or you could take a dump on a ball of discarded line, and that way guys won't step on it and drag it around. ... jk

Actually it's important to get mono line out of the woods and river areas because it can tangle and kill wildlife - in addition to the cluter factor. If the ball keeps creeping out of your pocket take your knife, or clippers, and cut thru half the ball or rolled up mono. That way it stays in place better, and if any strands fall out they are less harmful in small pieces.
