I know you can't use bait until Dec 1, but is it open at all for steelies right now?

In answer to your ? Tokul creek is much like Reiter Ponds in the aspect of pressure, however, no comparison when it comes to fisherman to fish ratio.

I always felt Tokul was a complete clown show. It would be interesting to know the ratio of flossed fish to biters. My guess, 100-1. Can't wait till they install carnival rides there...

I don't usually fish the eddy itself, I typically either fish upstream or downstream and have done fairly well. I've never experienced combat fishing there.

At the risk of offending someone, Tokul creek is nothing like Reiter. It's 10 times worse. Fishing Tokul creek, just isn't fishing. The creek is so small you can just about hop across it. You are literally standing right on top of the fish. There a people on both sides of creek. You're more likely to thread a fish than you are to truly catch it. I've witnessed near fist fights, and lots of name calling. It's rediculous. The couple times that I've fished there, I've literally been embaressed that I was even there.

My brother tried Tokul a few years back just one time. He still jokes about people running heavily weighted rigs with 6" leaders. I asked him how the drift was and he just laughed. He then explained the artfull technique used by the masses
to hook these fish. To me pulling out a rod length
of line, dropping it in for a 3 second drift and yarding at any hesitation doesn't sound like much of a sporting way to hook up.

But what can I say to each his own right.

The Snoqualmie is a good river (well, for this area) lots of bank access and decent fishing. There are lots of places to fish besides Tokul Creek itself. I've never fished in the creek and usually can avoid the big eddy and have managed to do well. The mouth of the Tolt is a pretty good spot too.

I've never fished there. I've heard it's good in the summer, but when people talk about the "big eddy" they're talking about the eddy at the mouth of Tokul Creek. That area gets pounded hard because that's where the hatchery is.

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with the Snoqualmie. You just don't want to fish Tokul. Big Eddy is worth throwing a float rig in for a few minutes. There are also some other good places to fish down by Fall City and the mouth of the Raging. Likewise you can fish down by the mouth of the Tolt. Me, I've never had much success on the Snoqualmie, but it's got a few small stretches of good water and some folks are quite successful.
Also, I'm not really a trout fisherman, but I hear there are some great spots above the falls.
