Anybody have any suggestions for some rivers that are in halfway decent shape for the weekend? Has anybody fished Blue Creek in the last few days? How did you do?

Stick to the bigger dam fed rivers. Lewis, cowlitz, etc.

I heard that there was some good fishing at Blue Creek Wednesday. Don't know if I should qualify combat fishing as "good fishing" though. They were catching fish, how's that? Anyone know what the rivers over on the OP are looking like? Might be worth the drive is it doesn't rain enough to get gooose started back in the ark building business?

If the Hoh is running at about 6,000 CFS or less then the Bogie, Calawah and the Soleduc will be in fishing shape generally. Since the Hoh is the only river that has a gauge in the Forks area the Hoh is my datapoint for determining whether it's worth the trip over or not. When the Hoh is below about 3,500 CFS then the Forks rivers are going to be fairly clear. In the 3,000 to 3,500 CFS range the Hoh will be generally fishable.

I bet the EF is blown out or dang close to being blown out. Still nobody db'ing it, either. Strange isn't it?

RR, thanks for the insight. I was watching the Queets for the same reason. Supposed to rain like all get out over there tonight according to the forecast. Otherwise, is looks like it might be about right. If nothing else, a scouting trip might be in order...

Hit the Bogy yesterday! the fish were in and the river was prime! I dont know about today though. They may have got too much rain last night! the Hoh really spiked fast! If it drops by Sunday it will be good again. No bankies in the Tall Timbers due to the gate closure and 4 boats yesterday except the guys on the Calawah who came through late really makes a good day!

Bob D,
I hit the Calawah/Bogie on Tuesday. The river was in great shape. A few bankies on both sides and a few drifters. I missed a couple of early strikes and only saw one brat on the bank. The gate was open. They must have just closed it. Is there a number to call to find out when the gate is open?
