Ok, I'm no angel on this or any board I'm on. But my God people. What is this board coming to????? I always loved coming here for the comradary. I've met some good friends on here. I'm sure I'll meet more. This has been one of my favorite boards do to the fact this is more like boat talk then a classroom. Where else can we talk about Jenna Jamison being our favorite rod holder (aka Kid Sauk) or RT chasing Emus???

Man, it's almost Xmas. Though Ii'm the biggest A@&hole at Xmas due to my hours put in at UPS this time of year, I truly ask that some sort of truce be made. I comme here to get away, shoot the s&@t with my friends. This is a place I go when Ii can't fish. It gives me that boat talk that makes fishing so much fun. Ii quote John Lennon when he sang "Give peace a chance". Bankers, sledders, driftboaters, the very elite and righteous catarafters laugh , bugtossers, pluggers, trollers, plunkers, and any I may have missed are all FISHERMEN (and women)!!!!!!!!

So, let's bury the hatchet, stop the flaming posts, and go back to plain old boat talk. Disagreements are one thing, but outright flaming just need to stop. The guy you flame today could've been a great fishing partner that you'll never get the chance to know.

I've said my peace.

Jerry

Well put Os!!

You beat me to the punch on this one. Gotta say my deleting finger is starting to twitch pretty bad these days and I don't like to use it!

Disagreements are one thing, but let's keep it civil. Thanks!

Jerry and Bob, I understand your not liking flaming posts. Most of us don't either. But I have only seen flaming lately in snagging debate posts. I may have missed some elsewhere, because I don't read all posts.

Bob, using these snagging debate posts would you please give us some examples of what you consider proper debate posts on an important fishing issue and ones you consider flaming posts that make your delete finger itch? If you do that, I would think it will help all of us understand and stay within the proper bounds of fishing issue debate on here. Use the verbatum words of flaming and they can be a direct example of what guys should avoid on here. Thanks for something that will help clear the air for all your members.

Bobber down to that Steelhead. Some of us, including me, have to stop taking things to heart if we hear something that annoyes us. I think something has to do with short days and not enough time to fish... =)

Couldn't agree more myself. It is pretty obvious that we need the rivers to all come back in shape so people can get away from the computer and relax. We all have our opinions on things and are entitled to them right or wrong. Bob is totally in his right to start deleting some of these posts or even the entire thread if they are getting to hostile. Keep it in debate form and not attack and everyone should be fine. So lets get back to having some fun. I am heading out Pheasant and Chukar hunting for a couple of days myself. Everyone take it easy.

I agree that it is time to put an end to flaming personal attacks, especially on new posters that finally stick their neck out only to have it chopped off by some people who feel it is open season on anyone with opinions other than their own.

That said, if personal attacks can be avoided, there are issues that can and should be intelligently argued and debated. If it goes beyond your tolerance for pain, then simply ignore it. It's not fair to tell people to stop talking about a subject because you don't want to hear it anymore.

Touchy....Touche' Here's an idea, why not try growing up? Some of the drivel that has started to show up here lately, is getting to the point of stupidity! There are plenty of other BB's for imature name calling and nasty attitudes. Whats really a hoot, is when the guilty parties, you know who you are, apologize for ripin' into one another, then turn around and do it again! :p

Cheers to you all, even the Mavrick and I have called a truce! Like they keep on telling us on the newscasts, since that Sept. 11th tragedy, we are all a little tense and have to simmer down.
And with all this rain, and high water, we are all getting tired of tyeing leaders and sorting out the tackle. We need to go lose some of that gear in the river.
BTW, just a heads up, I was out back were I have a 14 foot boat parked, and the plug hole was clogged with pine needles and the boat was darn near full of water. Check yours out if its not covered and you have gear in it or even a battery.

I've said it before and I'll say it again,...

..."There's a thin red line between genius and insanity; not only have most of you crossed it many times, you've completely erased it."

Fishing is supposed to be fun, remember!!!

No wonder rules change against the angler, we can't even agree to disagree with ourselves.
