Well Fellas today i lost my jig cherry, i would like to thank everyone for sharing there tricks to allow me to fish the jig with confidence. in paticular, using the trilene knot with a drop of superglue to hold jig horizontaly on presentation. stacking the split shot large medium small to allow the bobber to stay with the jig in the drift. and coating the line with floatant for easier mending.
But I also broke 2 rules I was trying to cast behind a bush in the creek 1 2 3 4 times finally i got the jig right next to it within a couple inches the bobber instantly goes down so i thought for sure id hooked the bush so i yank yank trying to get unhooked all of a sudden the "bush" yanks back well needless to say i hadnt set the hook well enough and with a couple head shakes it threw the hook.
second mistake had been fishing for awhile with out any action so i start yacking to my girlfriend next to me.... when i look back my bobber is gone...reel like hell and attempt to set the hook too little too late a couple headshakes and shes gone...
heres a pic of the little vixen who popped my jig cherry
thanx again for the tips,mike

Hey where is the post on the trilene knot with superglue. I guess I missed that one.
Also I am interested in the placement of split shot small to large, which way?
Congrats on your first jig steely, I too will be attempting at my first jig steely in a week or so. I have always drift fished and not had much confidence in jig fishing.
