Have a buddy who wants to fish the lower quinault in jan.-feb. Anybody know if Clay Butler is still guiding? Never fished with him, have meet him on the O.P. a few times and he seems a great guy. Always willing to talk to a stranger and give a fish report(not just tribal rivers). I know most of the top guides are booked-up, but we can go midweek and maybe pick up a spot. Any other of your fav. guides out thier feel free to vote them in. Were looking for a jet sled trip as we whould like to see alot of the river.

Give Robbin Rhoades a call. He may or may not have some open dates. Most of the top guides over there are booked solid. I've fished with him for many a year now and would recommend him to any one.

Tell him I recommended him and he just might find a spot for you! wink

Left messages for robbin and clay yesterday, yet to hear from them. Both probably pretty busy guys this time of year. Whats this deal with most of the native guide bearing the "charlie"? Now we got "radioshack charlie" is somebody yank'in my chain?! eek eek

nobody is yanking your chain. there are three guides on the quinalt that have the last name charley. inky, and his two kids tandy and steve. all of these quinalt guides have nick names. inky was named because he was an incubator baby, tandy was named radioshack ( tandy corp. ) etc. there are other guides with nicknames such as crowbar, biggie ,waynes world, tater etc. if you need some numbers email me and i can send you some more numbers. the only number i wont give you is inky's cause i'm fishing with him every day that the river is in.

Fished with Raido Shack (Tandi Charlie) 4 times last year for Steelhead we hooked a total of 63. Fished with Inky once (Bardo was suppose to go but got sick) Hooked 17 steelhead. Fished with Levi Sandstrom twice this year once for silvers and once for steelhead. As you probally read we hooked 18 steelhead. None of those three are anchor draggers, they all work hard to catch fish.

FITD, Are you sure you weren't drunk and just got lost???? laugh

I am looking to book a trip for 3 or more people
in Feb and March. In need of the best guide on the
Quinault. We want to hook lots of fish. Inky sounds good to me. I am sure money talks. Can I
get some E-mail with some contact numbers or better yet some E-mail addresses. Thanks for all
the help I can get. smile

Fished with Tater. He fished real hard to get our fish after a big rain last year. Never gave up. I highly recommend him on the Lower Quinault. His uncle Crowbar is a top Quinault guide and a hell of a nice guy.

in the last 90 days, i have fished with inky on the quinalt 45 times. he was never late one time. if he was a no show, you might have met him in the wrong place. when inky has a trip he shows up. i've been fishing with inky for 25 years and have never been stood up. we even have a halloween costume party every year and inky has been known to show up as an indian.

To all , I do apologize for making the comment about Inky getting drunk. I should not have said it. I don't know Inky personally but sounds like a great guide. But it did happen that he didnt show. What would you think if it happened to you?
Keep in mind it's a 6hr drive to get there.

these things can happen. i always call the nite before when i fish and get a fishing report plus remind the guide that the trip is on. give inky a call. i'm sure he will make it up to you if he made a mistake.

Bardo isn't too bad of a guy. After all, he still took me fishing after I called him "My wife's aunt's third husband." smile
