This is probably a dumb question and has been on the board more then once but I want to get insurance for all of my fishing gear and boat, I fish with pretty nice stuff in my opinion(GLoomis and shimano) and have a new 16ft fiberglass Drift Boat. I am just curious of what kind of services they provide as far as that stuff that I want to get covered, and how much it would cost.
sorry for it being so confusing,
thanks.

Cost will probably about 2-3% of replacement or market value annually.

All of your fishing gear is covered on your homeowners under personal property. You do need to get a addendum for your boat though. Your motor and anything that is physically attached to your boat need a separate policy.

I am going through the process right now. My motor was stolen and all the cables were cut. I hadn't got my separate policy yet so my policy only covers my motor up to $1000 plus a $500 deductible so I only get $500 for my motor and all the damage that was done to my boat. But, all my gear that was in the boat is covered under personal property.

I learned one thing though. Over value everything by a good margin. I pay extra in my policy for replacement costs. How that works is, they depreciate everything and then when you go buy your new stuff you send in the receipts and then they cover the difference. Kind of a headache but is worth the $$$ to do it otherwise you will get the shaft.

Hope this helps.... smile

Anyone out there familiar with a company that insures catarafts? My insurance company doesn't and Progressive doesn't.
