We're always trying to introduce new and exciting products at Vision Hooks & Tackle. The latest product that will be introduced soon is the new Vision Rag. The original idea was to introduce a pre-tied Rag sold in bulk.

That go me thinking - what if people don't want a pre-tied rag? Would they rather buy the materials and make the rags themselves?

So, Vision Hooks & Tackle is asking you for your feedback - regardless if you like our hooks or not.

Would you like to see a pre-tied rag on the market? We'd offer something like 5 color combinations and probably offer 5-6 pre-tied rags per package.

Would you like to see a "kit" that contains the backer rod, beads, hooks, and yarn - and you just make the rags yourself?

Individual packages of backer rod, yarn, and beads for your rag making use?

All of the above?

Your feedback is very important to us. Please respond to this thread, or send a private email to products@visionhooksandtackle.com.

Also, got a great idea for a product that you can't find? Let us know! For example, I keep thinking about a 3-way swivel, where one of the ends is an interlocking swivel. Notice how one doesn't exist?

Oh yeah, here's a photo of the new Vision Rag. Coming soon to a store or e-site near you!

Justin,
The rag looks great. My .02 would be for the "all of the above" option. This lets the people bye pre-tied or the components to express their own color combo creativity. I think tying your own gear and fooling a fish with it is part of the fun.

I would think pre-made would be a good option as well. Most fisherman like to tie their own hook and leaders, but I think some would probably like to purchase the rags ready to be threaded on the leaders.

I would buy the stuff to make the rags and probably the premade ones.
On another note I really like the sharpness of your hooks. Why don't you guys make treble hooks ? Just wondering?

I think that it would be good for people who don't wanna or don't know how; it would be good.
Or even when you can't get Backer rod.
I have bought some but prefer to make my own. It is a lot cheaper to make then buy.

At least for me, half the fun is catching fish on something I tied up myself, adds a little sense of accomplishment.

Parker,
Any chance Vision will be offering or does offer downturned eye hooks like the tiemco 700?

Joe will get your order out via US Priority Mail tomorrow - he's on the road now. USPS Priority Mail is pretty quick. A couple of days.

I'm working on a color chart for the worms. IE, what color goes with what name. Heck, even I get confused on what name is what color some times!

Email products@visionhooksandtackle.com for your questions.

Order questions should be directed to orders@visionhooksandtackle.com

Parker I like mine pre tied and a fish already on the other end. jk I would like either the kit or either way as there is time that I am in a hurry and would like them done up already.

I haven't made my own rage before so I might be way off in my thinking but how do you put the yarn through the foam? If there is a special tool required for this then you should also sell it so people can set up the rags. I think the idea of being able to make your own is very appealing and also allows the person to mix and match colors or to add different things. I'd say go for it-just keep the price reasonable so people are more likely to pick it up.

Novice question: Do you fish the rag set up just as shown, or do you put eggs or shrimp on the hook?

Yes I think both ways are very positive, I would be interested in building them myself, especially if you have the 1/4 inch white backer rod, Let me know if this will be an option. thank you

There is so many different options that one can do with rags. Difference in backer rod color, yarn color, type/size of hook, and leader type/length.

I would suggest making up some basic all-around rags and the parts to make your own. But, on top of that offer a call-in for special order rags.

This will save time for the fisherman, but might cost him a little more for the customized options. Just a thought, but I wold like to see that in my stores.

Just from personell experience with the late great Joe Butorac's Rags that he sold commercialy for years under Trophy Tackle until his untimely death last year, it seemed that the packages with 2 or 3 pretied with leaders and hooks already to go sold better then anything.

How about a little remark about Joe because if it wasnt for him, most of us wouldn't be fishig rags today???
