It's time for me to upgrade from my 12+ year old lamiglass 1306. Which rod do you like for a baitcasting reel? I like to fish the smaller to medium size rivers w/ eggs, rags and smaller stuff. I don't mind throwing a float in the nook and crannies of a stream, but, I want to feel more bites! I'm frustrated when someone tells me "I hooked 4 fish today" and I'm using the same little pink/pearl corky w/ 8lb leaders. I'm not sure when I would be required to put more "heat" into a fish. 1/2 the fun is taking your time landing the fish. What main line set up do suggest with what rod? TH - Are you coming out w/ something new I should wait for?

Thanks

Rainshadow is coming out with a new line of blanks... 51 million modulus.. they are said to be awesome. laugh Can't wait to get my samples. But that wont help you for another 6 months or so.!

As for the models I like the 1025c. A very sensitive rod for fishing small baits, enough backbone to handle brats nates, coho and even chinook.
The 1084c is also a great rod.. the 9' my allow you to fish floats a bit easier? If you are planning on just fishing steelies the 1084c would be a good choice.

The 1143 may be a bit big for you standard drift rod, especially on smaller rivers. (Great float rod though)

I would suggest the 1025c or the 1084c.. (rainshadow blank) maybe with SicTi guides laugh
I have been fishing the 1084c and love it my dad however swears by the 1025c. ??
Do you want a little heavier rod or a little lighter rod?

I'm not sure about the weight? I'm sure I get used to either one. Thanks for the help.
