For the last couple of days the time it takes to load the site and go from topic to topic seems to have
slowed alot from what I have been accustomed to. We have DSL here at work and I've been spoiled
by the speed. So I guess my Question is anybody else having a problem or could it be an internal problem
or maybe DSL problem?

I'll let Bob say for sure, but I bet it is just that when you update the software, the cache has to rebuild. This can take a couple days, depending on how large the site is.
Is that right, Bob?

I access from a T-1 here at work, and the startup is a bit slower than a number of other boards I hit. ( Jerry, it isn't the mushrooms, things are a bit slower than you remebered. wink )

I too am on a T-1 here at work. The load time has increased dramatically it seems. Almost as slow as the old board on my dial-up at home.

Bob's site has always loaded slower for me, but quality is worth the wait.

I do also recall a recent post that Bob did about some system upgrades that his provider had done recently, so it's entirely possible that it's not the new software on his end that's causing problems.

I too have noticed a considerable slow down in the time it takes to load the page the past few days? We have an OC-12(644M) here to our ISP so it's definitely not the connection speed. I have my PC connected to a 100M port on our switch, advantages of working in the network. I am guessing that it could just be the time of day or that whenever I am checking out the board so is everyone else????

But of course it’s probably the software cause it’s never the Network. Time to reset the server…..Isn't that how MS fixes everything confused laugh

Anybody here with qwest? I get "can't find the server". And I have their deluxe service. However, I was getting a down period for about
10 minutes every 2 hours. Their tech person told me I had basic....2 hours on, down 10 minutes. Somewhere along the way, I got switched to a different service and have had the deluxe for almost 2 years. My email has been intermittent for the past few days as well and their email IS down at the moment.
Anybody change to MSN from qwest?

Can't say that I've noticed a thing using my lovely 28.8 connection out this way.

The upgrade to the board was supposed to cause a slight performance hit based on the extra features, but certainly nothing that would change a few seconds to a minute.

One of the board members has been kind enough to to offer to do some in-depth searching on this for me ... we'll know more soon smile

Winke, I get to work early so I can get my fix, also access at lunch and break. After a good nights sleep and a reduction in pshco-active substances the speed this morning appears to be normal.
