I found out this weekend that Dick Nites rock in the walleye world. Tried out a couple of them on a famous Minnesota Walleye Lake yesterday, and the results were excellent. It scared me when the first toothy critter attacked my Dicky and shook it vigorously. I'll post a couple of pics in the Misc category on the photo page.

After seeing my Dick. . . Nite so brutally assaulted, my partner decided to keep his well guarded. I have to call Teds' and see if I can get a new Dicky, as my old one has tooth marks down it's entire length. Enjoy the pics

You think that those things are brutal on Dick's, you should see what a steelie will do to your pink worm.

I would rather have a steelie gum on my pink worm, than a walleye scrape my Dick. . . Nite with his sharp pointed teeth.

Hey Superfly:

It was 15 degrees, and the wind was only blowing about 15mph at the worst. Those canvas ice houses are sweet with a sunflower heater in them. It was an absolute fish fest.

Ice was about 14 inches thick, and you could drive a pickup anywhere you wanted. I wish I was doing it again today, as it made for some good eats. I think those Vision hooks will be the ticket for fishing walleyes with bait.

I'll lower myself to things you can't imagine, when the rivers are frozen over, and my steelies are out in the lake. Oh my god, I'm a closet walleye fishermen. I feel so good after coming out in public. Hopefully I can catch some real fish in a few more weeks. In the interim, I may be heading up to the Canadian border to jig lake trout thru the ice. If so, I'll post pictures. Can you imagine how cold I got after dangling my Dicky under the ice for 11 hours. Ouch
