Talking to a guide who did the Lower Quinault today, things don't look too good. Sounds like the lake "turned over" about 2-4 weeks ago and has yet to clear. Anyone familar with this phenomenon? About how long until the murk blows down-stream and we can get back to fishing? I've got a trip set for Feb. 22!!.........

Not too unusual. If we get major floods in Dec Or Nov., the lake fills with silt and the lower river stays murky (usually less than 2 feet of vis)through May. This happened around six years ago and made fishing nearly impossible, even though many steelhead were present. You have to almost plunk to get them, or drift fish s-l-o-w-l-y with large profile drift bobbers and big baits. It sucks.

Yes..........it does suck. After seeing the pics of these MONSTER fish coming out of the Q, I called my buddy to set up a trip. He said it's really colored, and suggested waiting at least another couple weeks. \:\(

Man, I hate the waiting game. I'm just hoping it's not May before it shapes up this time around.
