year? I've fished the north coast 2 and 1/2 days in the last 2 weeks and have found plenty of native steelhead, but nothing in the teens/twenties yet. Of my 7 landed so far, only one was >10 (a 12 pound hen). One fish I lost might have gone 12 or 13. Last year by this time, I was looking for my 3rd twenty and had hooked several in the teens. Anyone else notice the same thing?

Wild Chrome,

That appears to be what is happening on the river that I have been fishing. All the natives have been small so far. And I am not talking about the Cowlitz River. Also, I wonder if Rich G and others have seen any improvements in the rivers that they fish. The last time I heard from Rich, the natives were not showing up in the numbers that he was used to seeing. Did the native's runs ever show better in his river systems? So far, they have not shown up in any large number or size in the river that I am fishing, like they did last year.

Hey Chrome--sounds like we fish alot of the same water. I would have to say though that my buddies and I have done pretty well on bigger fish. I have caught a few in the 7-10 range but I think more in the 10+ range. My brother had a day 2 weeks ago that he caught 3 in one day that were 14 or better! One thing I have noticed though is that I was catching Natives more often earlier in the season than I ever have? They have all had pretty good shoulders on them too. I fish the Trask alot and drive a Gray Tundra, stop if you see me and we'll chat!
