Does anybody know if the cutthroat are feeding on the salmon smolts yet?
If so what is the best kind of lure to use to imitate a smolt?

It has been centuries, but used to fish it all the time. We used to do well on cutts and kokanee using a dick nite spoon in red & white. Old fashioned, but it sure worked. Sadly the kokes are just about gone, glad to hear the cutts might still be viable.

Troll rapalas in the rainbow pattern! Size them according to smolt size. Also try needlefish, same pattern. Take this from a guy who lived on the lake for 4 years, the lake sammy special though is giant pop-gear a 24 inch leader and a 2inch piece of nightcrawler nothing more!
