At the risk of sending workplace productivity across the Pacific Northwest into a complete downward spiral, I urge you all to take a look at the progression in fish counts at Bonneville over the last four days, at https://www.nwp.usace.army.mil/op/fishdata/daily2001.htm

Nice little push of fish yesterday. Could this be the beginning of the surge?

I called the Fishery, they said nobody was out yesterday, due to the wind, so hard to tell what the bite is like.

On my link I show 127 Chinook over Bonneville on Monday and yesterday's figures haven't been posted yet.

I know everyone is excited to catch springers, but remember, as of the 19th only a little over a thousand fish have crossed bonnie.

Just to put it in prespective with last year's counts, After April first through August first, there were only a handful of days that saw less than a thousand fish cross the dam a day! Be patient. Good times are a coming. Remember, last June 14th there were more fish crossing the ladder at Bonnie than we've seen cross all year.

Well, shoot, if I just hit the right page at the site I was at, it gives me perfectly good data. I just have to control the spasticity of my overeager fingers.

Which for the record, is https://www.nwp.usace.army.mil/op/fishdata/daily2002.htm

Damn, I just want to fish too bad...

I read it as 1128 as of march 19, 2002 compared to 983 as of march 19, 2001. So we are actually just a bit a head of last year. Could just imagine what it would be like with out the nets. Hopefully someday we will find out.

Be patient, my fellow springer slayers. Like rain on the OP, they will come in force soon enough laugh

"Give a man a springer and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish for springers and he will spend every last dollar he makes for gear and gas for the boat, call in sick for work and eventually get fired because he never came back, get divorced because he fishes too much, and wake suddenly in the middle of the night realizing that he just put the lamp post through the wall while setting the hook during a dream." ~Kid Sauk March 20, 2002
