My post from another BB:

Right on Justin. Hot N Tot divers with long leaders and pink worms are great for steelhead. And 'nooks too.

Twisted', the diver you use depends on both the river and the fish targeted. It's tough to beat the regular sized Hot N Tot divers to backtroll for steelhead. For springer fishing in deeper holes and runs, the Magnum HnT or the 20 Ft. Jet Planer (on the deepest setting for holes deeper than 10' and on the middle setting for shallower than 10') are both good for backtrolling shrimp, eggs, or pink worms for springer Kings. The 'slido' refers to putting the same type of small plasic lead dropper slider on your mainline above all terminal gear and hooking the Jet Planer onto it with about a 14" dropper. If you have a little too much line out, the JP will actually back bounce a bit for you - but at the risk of losing them to snags. It's best to have them out far enough to be about a foot above bottom. That takes knowing the water you are fishing very well, and occassionally pulling them forward to see if they hit bottom, so as to keep them near it.

While all good worm presentations work great at times, this backtrolling method really rocks! Try a 4" pink worm for steelhead and about a 5" (pinched off a 6 incher) for 'nooks. With a good scent on them, this is a deadly effective way to catch fish. btw, so does backbouncing them with lead! By using a lead bb rig up (about a 12" dropper up the tributaries where they hug bottom more, and about a 45" leader) you can both hover fish it and add different jigging type actions as you backbounce it thru runs. Killer!

Ok, you got me...I clicked on the link without looking close enough. How about emailing me the real link before I tell Nick on you...
Later, T.
P.S. Since you brought it up, did you see yesterday's pseudo-apologetic offering on Ang1e's site? That took some guts.
