those that have one for there drifter, where do or how to position the transducer? I have the suction cup but putting it on the side points it sideways...some other way to do it? a pole of some sort clamped to the gunnel? I'll be using it on the columbia and bays ......

I don't have any experience with fish finders on the river but, my thought is that,in a DB,once you get a contact,you are pretty much right on top of them.
How would you target fish that you just drifted over?

My fishing partner has a Fishing buddy by bottom line We clanp it on the side of the boat near the ore lock. It works great it looks down and ahead at the same time,you can also rotate it to look around a hole.
