You can never go wrong with " MIKES" shrimp oil.

Remdrake, for me it's Anchovy smelly Jelly sticky liquid. I inject my herring or cover my plugs with it......" I love the smell of anchovy in the morning.......it smells like.......VICTORY!! "

For Columbia springers I like a combo of quality smelt and squid oils, with a dash of "C+" mixed in real well. For coastal springers it's hard to beat a good salmon egg/shrimp combo for scent and for bait - especially with some good additives (use the search feature for lots of posted info on what some of those are). "Mike's" is a quality product, as is "Pro-Cure". But I suggest giving Tillamook Bait Co.'s Marie made bait oils a try. The best scent oils are real fresh home made, with TLC. As for kickfish Kwikfish, real fresh sardine (or herring, or anchovie) filet wraps are hard to beat. Although a fresh piece of squid 'calamarie wrap' can sometimes beat them. And wraps aren't only for Kwikies - they work real well on Mag Warts and others plugs. IMHO

For springers I swear by smelly jelly herring salt. I don't use wraps. Just a little bit of herring salt and oh baby hang on. laugh

Here's what I do, and I'm 9 springers for 11 trips. When I plug cut that first big buck herring of the morning, from a batch I jigged at Westport and vacpacked, I wash my hands real good in the sperms - kills that predator scent which is what you want scents to do. After I've dragged the thing around for an hour or so I'll add some herring smelly jelly to the hooks and squirt some herring oil on the bait. But mostly I keep herring stink on my hands each time I handle the bait.
