Hmmm lets see the hot lure for the day was.... Drumroll please. A magnum wiggle wart in what color? c'mon some one chime in here. I think every fish out there had a nice bright orange plug in its face...

A guy at the ramp asked me what color orange mag wart I was using......

most folks had one fish some had more. No skill involved just troll and don't hit anyone...

Thanks to RR for the fine eats and good to meet some more good folks.

I wont mention hand offs as it seems to have touched someones nerve recently but I'll hand off my rod to a first time no fish cathing person every time even if it means I don't bring in a fish. reputation? who really cares as long as a good time was had by all.
I once took a group of guys that were visiting from back east out fishing they kept asking if I wanted to reel the next fish in and I kept saying no you guys go ahead I live here and I can do this whenever I want.... I rather enjoyed that day and it will stand out in my memory as a day that alot of fish were caught but not by me and I still enjoyed it.

Wiser can't wait to see the pics

Bait, I couldn't have said it any better myself!

4.1 was all about fun...we didn't make a big deal about who and what....we simply congratulated those that where fortunate enough to have the seductive enough orange wart.

My wart although finely tuned by TM...who coincidently had the mojo wart...and also for my state of mind given the thumbs up by Rapid Robert...failed to get the attention of any of those shouldered footballs but what the hey...the great company to me surpassed the measurement of my success. I did however let it be known after hearing "fish on" THAT "I got net"...I had to get into the action some how! laugh TM was so gracious that he let us all in on catching his hog...while he patrolled the surrounding area...for deer eek laugh Rapid steered him into a fish that his buddy Robert called while I cleaned up with the netting job. Thanks TM you made my day!

Timber next trip I'll drive and you can snooze on the way home! laugh

Thanks again to everyone...it was fun!

DF...this trip you and I will have to go with..."why not my mag" confused

I'm kicking myself square in the *ss for not reading into RT's bag of tricks post on my 4.1 thread! rolleyes rolleyes

The technical variations for that particular fishery must have been so suttle that I failed to even notice...get Reel...Truth!

Let it be known right up front that...as far as my last two statements are concerned...it's just smack! It's OK if you clarify it for those who might take it in a serious way...right?

FJ...out.

I had two takedowns, one on a PINK wiggle wart, and one on an orange wiggle wart. I actually got to feel the second fish for about 3 seconds before it unbuttoned.

We threw everything at the fish, including trolled herring and kwikfish.

Morning was the most prodcutive time, with bites occurring around 9am, noon, and again around 4pm. Lot of boat traffic and the wind in the afternoon made for some interesting boat handling.

Thanks all to showed up, and RR, those brauts were great.

Hey FJ, did ya use that 'secret' I e-mailed you about; putting a layer of butt wax on the back of the Wart? Must not of. wink

I wish we all had the great attitude about F4 that you guys have demonstrated here about 4.1 - way to go, in every department.

I hope to be able to come to more of these. Also watch for a possible Wind River Clean Up Party II, that 'Fly may put on again. Same format as last year (daybreak fishing, pick up trash hour, and BBQ/beer), only a little earlier in the run so the fishing is better. I've heard Jackson has been training on a stairmaster for this event. laugh

I had a great time yesterday. Big thank you to Wiser and his dog Lyric for giving me a ride in their boat all day and to RR for the great lunch and the sweet deal on the Loomis rod and to Timber Man for driving down and back in one day. I think between the 11 of us that were there we landed 4 fish and probably lost 4 or 5 more.

The smack talkin is fun, but I think the LACK of smack talking made this a much more fun event.

What a day!!! great weather, great people, great food and great fishing.
The wind(breeze) was quiet all morning till 12:30.Despite Dogfish's information, even the short period of wind from 12:30 till 2:30 was mild by Wind River standards.
Met and/or reaquainted myself with the dozen great people who participated. Met and fished with Craven and Gloabou for the first time and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Lunched with everyone else and found the same thing i've found at the other bb events. People who are fun to be around and really enjoy that one common denomenator...fishing.
RR provided some great German sausage cooked up on his grill. What a treat. You all need to get with Rapid Robert for a guided trip on one of his rivers. This short meeting proved him to be one top notch person to fish with. Now if FJ had only come through with the Bridgeport IPA.
And the fishing....
There were a total of four keepers brought in but my memories of this event will consist of far more than that. Crackers from the likely and unlikely, seeing other fish caught and lost around us, hearing the stories and laughing about other fish/fishing trips, Dogfish using Octopus as "go to bait of choice" and the endless anticipation of the next bite.
Thanks to everyone who participated.
