I am headed to Yakima this weekend and am wondering if the Yakima River is any good for springers yet. Where is a good place to go, what to use, etc? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have heard most people use eggs or just throw spinners, but I would appreciate some local knowledge if I could get some. Thanks in advance.

The rivers been out for 4days. So the catching has been very slow. The tail end of the run is just shooting through and not lingering in the holes. Yes eggs are the besy bait. It's up to you but I wouldn't waste any time on the Yak right now. The Duck

It's slowly dropping but will be unfishable for at least 3 or 4 more days. I was hoping to fish it today but watching a 40' cottonwood tree rolling down the middle of the river made me go golfing.

The way the game dept's talking about the run winding down, I wouldn't be surprised to see them close it early again this year.

Being it's single barbless, native release it should stay open till june 16th. Talked to one of the tribes bios. today...doin a smolt check, anyway theres 10,000 over prosser and only 1,000 over roza, and they dropped forcast from 18,000 to 15,000, so lot's of fish in system, should be good when river drops and clears some.
last two weeks were hot. laugh
